Exterior completely sided, all rough-ins complete, interior fully insulated
Lack of updates until today…. We sided the exterior with Hardi refinished color plus and had perfectly matching paint made for the finger jointed cypress trim. Porch overhangs custom carpentry and we developed a neo-craftsman window detail that nods to the original houses’ lintel and sill style while staying within the more contemporary culture of the new ADU’s aesthetic.
Foundation forms ready for inspection
After some delays due to Portland’s snowfall we were able to bring the foundation form to completion. I was out there this morning trenching for the plumbing and electrical groundwork and took this shot. Notice how the footings and stem walls are a mono pour form setup. Notice all of the required 5/8” hold downs anchored into the footing rebar and protruding from the stem wall (blue strapping holding it to the top of the stem wall forms)..
NE 8th Ground-up ADU preliminaries
We passed the Tree Protection inspection on the new ADU project. They let me get away with orange roll fencing since this Magnolia is on the opposite corner of the property and sits atop a natural fortress out of the reach of backhoes and bulldozers.
